Crittenton's Oncology Program is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer as a "Community Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Program." This accreditation verifies that Crittenton offers a full range of diagnostic and treatment services on site or by referral. Crittenton actively participates in clinical research trials on a variety of sites.

Technological innovations in cancer detection and treatment:
- Stereotactic radiosurgery treats patients with otherwise inoperable brain tumors by delivering high level doses of radiation with greater precision and accuracy to obliterate the tumor and spare the healthy tissue.
- Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), the latest technology available for treating tumors, involves a complex reverse planning system to determine appropriate dosage. It also treats tumors throughout the body with high-level doses of radiation while sparing the surrounding healthy tissue.
- Computerized Tomographic Radiotherapy Simulator (CT-SIM) is an instrument which enables sophisticated planning to permit the precise attack of cancerous tissue with radiation, causing minimal damage to surrounding healthy tissue.
- High Dose Rate (HDR) brachytherapy with remote afterloading allows precise, computer-controlled delivery of radiation directly to the target site, sparing nearby healthy tissue.
- For patients with prostate cancer, ultrasound guided prostate seed implant therapy offers an effective alternative to radical prostatectomy which reduces a patient's risk of undesirable side effects such as impotence and incontinence.
- The use of breast biopsy allows physicians to perform a breast biopsy using a needle instead of invasive surgery. This results in minimal post-operative pain, excellent cosmetic results and a quick return to normal activities.
- Breast MRI- innovators in this technology the Breast MRI team is one of the leaders in Oakland county for detection and imaging of breast malignancies
- Image Checker? Computer Aided Detection (CAD) system for use in breast cancer screening that assists our radiologists in minimizing false negative readings during mammograms.
- Crittenton Hospital Medical Center has the latest, most advanced whole-body molecular imaging technology available. PET CT or position emission tomography significantly enhances doctors' ability to accurately diagnose many cancers in their earliest stages by generating pictures of the precise location and extent of disease.
